Board-certified neurosurgeon Sanat Dixit, MD, MBA, offers comprehensive and customized therapies for the treatment of brain and spine disorders at the Huntsville, Madison, and Athens, Alabama, offices of SportsMED Orthopedic Surgery & Spine Center. Dr. Dixit has extensive training in the latest minimally invasive procedures for treating brain tumors, peripheral nerve damage, and degenerative joint disease.
After earning a master’s degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Dixit went on to finish his medical degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York.
He completed his neurological surgery residency at Pennsylvania State University in State College, where he also served as chief resident. For his fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery, Dr. Dixit trained at Semmes Murphey Neurologic Institute in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Dixit has more than 28 years of experience in the clinical management of brain and spine disorders. He specializes in brain tumor, chair malformations as well as neuro-spine surgery, artificial disc replacement surgery, and other complex spine procedures to relieve pain and increase mobility.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dixit remains involved in clinical education as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University. He has also served as adjunct faculty for the neurosurgery departments at both the University of Tennessee in Memphis and the University of Colorado in Denver.
