Edward “Tripp” Ference III is specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a focus in interventional spine medicine.
Dr. Ference obtained both his undergraduate and medical degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. After graduation, Dr. Ference completed an internship at Carolinas Medical Center followed by residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC. In his final year of residency, he served as chief resident and was granted the Carolinas Rehabilitation Scholar Award for excellence in clinical research. Most recently, Dr. Ference completed an Interventional Spine Medicine Fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Ference is a member of the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society and has been active at national and international conferences. He continues to teach medical students as Clinical Track Assistant Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). He has a special interest in non-pharmacologic treatments including regenerative technologies, peripheral nerve stimulation, cryoneurolysis, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
A Huntsville native, Dr. Ference returned to North Alabama to serve our community providing comprehensive non-surgical spine care. Dr. Ference has many interests, including hiking, running, and traveling with his wife, son and dog.
