About Dr. Franklin

Orthopedic surgeon Brett Franklin, MD, is proud to bring his expertise to the Madison and Huntsville, Alabama, offices of SportsMED Orthopedic Surgery & Spine Center. He specializes in sports medicine, particularly in joint replacements and hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopy. Dr. Franklin treats issues like arthritis, joint diseases and pain, muscle strains and sprains, and injuries to the foot, ankle, hip, and hand.

Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Franklin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile and went on to finish his orthopedic residency at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina.

Dr. Franklin received his sports medicine fellowship at The Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is also proud to be on staff at The Surgery Center of Huntsville and Crestwood Medical Center, also in Huntsville.

Dr. Franklin always collaborates with patients to choose the most conservative, long-lasting treatment option. His focus is on treating the symptoms and conditions, as well as overall patient health.
